“K-sport” is a community athletic center with courts of 7 different sports tessellating within the footprint of an abandoned K-Mart superstore. The column grid divides the 150,000 ft2 area into 10,000 ft2 squares and serves as a track for the modular locomotive architecture to snake and enclose a particular square. While visitors outside the enclosed square can play sports as intended, participants inside are encouraged to use the unique geometry of the courts found in their square to invent their own games.
